Levain Bakery was set to launch their first location in Philadelphia. They sought a local artist to design merchandise and create a hand-painted wallpaper with a Philly theme for their seating area. For the merch, they wanted a design that blended Philadelphia with Levain. I landed on a Liberty Bell and cookie fusion. The bell's ringing signifying the announcement of their new location in Rittenhouse Square.

The new bakery is located on Walnut Street in an old bank with ornate arches, columns and gold accents and eagles. The goal for the mural was to compliment the intricate architectural features while integrating visuals that symbolize Philadelphia and baking.

I created a pattern of eagles (Go Birds!) incorporating flowers, mixing bowls, cookies, and the Liberty Bell. Each frame to hold illustrated slices of Philadelphia history and everyday life. There are nods to Philly firsts, inventions, food, art, and more in every frame.
