Location

Independence Hall / Philadelphia Visitors Center — Philadelphia, PA

Painted for the 250th anniversary of the United States, this Liberty Bell stands at the birthplace of the nation, inviting viewers to reflect on both our origins and how far we’ve come. Framed by a present-day view of Independence Hall and its surrounding park, the scene unfolds as a living portrait of Philadelphia — people of different ages, cultures, abilities, and histories gathered together in shared joy. Peaceful protestors stand alongside families, neighbors, and caretakers of the land, honoring both the right to assemble and speak freely, as well as the everyday act of showing up for one another. Messages like “Life, Liberty, and Happiness for All,” “United We Stand,” and a banner reading “We the People” — rendered in the original script of the Constitution — ground the work in the ideals that shaped the country and echo across the landscape. The work celebrates a nation shaped by immigrants and their descendants, bound not by sameness but by collective hope and responsibility. It is an invitation to see oneself in the story — and a reminder that belonging is at the heart of the American experiment.
